I passed my class one in feb 2024 and I do a lot of nights out so I'm in services all the time and tbh they did not scary me cause 1, I was never afraid to ask some one to watch me as i was a new driver and I get a lot of advice from years of exp drivers helps massively to get good at reversing 2, I always say to myself fuck them I new and you were too exp driver have to remember they were like that when they were new. so my advice is never eva be afraid to ask for help from a fellow trucker they are way better than a instructor taking you out on a lesson in my opinion

MAN D0836 engine Eaton Roadranger 8 speed, those 2 combined you cant beat them. Absolutely great engine and Tranny. I had the best time driving my MAN truck with that exact setup... Never had a better truck than that. It could be very fast if you really pushed the engine and the load it had... didnt matter it would work flawlessly.

1:40 - haha, this is exactly what I stressed about the most (well this and the general real world driving vs test driving). Funnily enough, my examiner told me, "I know you're doing what you're supposed to do with your stopping distances but for the purpose of this test I am happy for you to get right up close to the cars in front as we are in busy hours with heavy traffic". He said the same thing about the Keep Clear areas, so long as we weren't blocking off emerency vehicle access. I thought, "This man is setting me up for failure!" and it took about 20 minutes for me to believe the man haha.

Someones been trying to change gears without the clutch. Thats why there wss grinding in the synchros. You shouldnt need to double clutch a synchro box unlesd theyve damaged rhe synchros becsuse they think theyre good and dont need to use the clutch 🤦🏻‍♂️

Simple when you got 2 acres of land to use! Try it in a yard that only uas 3/4 the length of the waggon to maneuver and the bay spaces aren't wide enough to open the cab doors all the way, when you've got open curtains obscuring your view.... That's Pallet Force at Burton-on-trent... A nightmare for newby! Under pressure with 50 parked up guys watching and 10 or 12 waiting to pass you! I'm 16months in now, and getting more confident, but I don't like a crowd watching!

Absolutely amazing video, I only passed my driving test in 2919, been a taxi driver for 2.5/3 years, and love driving (manual) I’d love to do my HGV, but no funding for my age (41). This video is great, but reminds me of how shit I am at Maths (overthinking) watching this video, my brain is thinking, what gear for slowing down, do I flick to low etc 🤯😰.
